ARW Landscape Design - Simplify Your Yard

Landscaping in the winter

If you're already thinking about purchasing some new plants, this is a fine time to start.  Nurseries and home improvement stores are already receiving new plant deliveries in preparation for spring plantings.  If you've got some plants you want to install, spring is a good time to get it done.  A shrub that is blooming now is Sarcococca ruscifolia (Sweetbox).  It has small white flowers that are very fragrant, providing a nice scent in your yard.  It gets about 4-5' tall and 4' wide.  It's a great shrub to place near a sitting area or front door where you can enjoy the fragrance.
